The single storey villas and the ksar have walls made of pisé, a mixture of earth and straw manufactured according to an ancient process. Known as an anti-allergic and natural phonic insulator, pisé provides coolness in summer and warmth in winter.

The exterior of the buildings is made of adobe, clayey untreated earth bricks, allowing patterns in relief to ornament with openwork.
